Technical observations from Russian Manicure Specialist Tatiana Kulik
“In my work, I do not approach nail services as routine cosmetic procedures. Every client presents a different technical situation that requires evaluation, judgment, and long-term thinking.
At Tati Nails Artistry, each appointment begins with an assessment of nail structure, skin condition, and lifestyle factors that may affect durability and nail health. Only after this evaluation do I determine the safest and most appropriate technical approach.
This section shares real observations from my daily work. Some cases involve restoration after damage. Others involve correction of improper previous work. Many focus on prevention — maintaining nail integrity through controlled technique and proper maintenance intervals.
My goal is always the same: to protect the natural nail while achieving clean, refined results built on structure rather than temporary appearance.
For clients, this provides transparency into the level of expertise behind each appointment. For professionals, it shows the discipline and technical thinking required to perform Russian manicure work correctly.
Because quality is never accidental. It is built through knowledge, experience, and respect for the craft — every single time.”

How to Keep Your Pedicure Beautiful During Vacation
How to Keep Your Pedicure Beautiful During Vacation 🌴
Vacation season is here! Beach days, sandals, and travel are just around the corner. Today, I’d like to share a few recommendations that I give my clients every summer.
If you’re planning a vacation, I recommend getting your pedicure 7–10 days before your trip, rather than a day or two before you leave.
Why?
Sometimes the most challenging work isn’t creating a perfect manicure.
Sometimes the most challenging work isn’t creating a perfect manicure.
Sometimes it’s knowing when NOT to touch something.
Combination Technique
Why I chose combination manicures
Over the years, I've studied and mastered various manicure techniques, including classic, hardware, and combination manicures.
While I still believe that each technique has its place and can be appropriate in certain situations, over seven years ago I chose combination manicures as my primary technique and continue to refine them to this day.
Meet Tatiana
My name is Tatiana, and I have dedicated more than 10 years of my life to the nail industry.
Throughout my career, I have studied and worked with a wide variety of manicure, pedicure, nail enhancement, and nail art techniques. Over the years, I learned that no single technique is perfect for every client. Different nail types, lifestyles, and goals require different solutions. That is why I never limit myself to one system, one material, or one trend.
Why is it green?
Today, I had a new client come to see me for the first time. And I’m still impressed—it took her almost two hours to get to the studio.
Before the service, she immediately warned me that about two weeks ago she noticed a green spot under the coating on one of her nails.
One of my new clients told me she used to get Russian manicures from a specialist in New York City
In the first photo, you can see the finished result of my work. And if you scroll further, you can see what nails the client had for her first appointment.
I want to point out right away: this post is not a critique of another artist. I simply want to show the details I pay attention to during my work.
9 Monts. One Client, One Goal
9 months. One client. One goal.
When this client first came to me in September, she had several concerns.
Her gel manicure would not last longer than 3 weeks.
Her cuticles were extremely sensitive and would often become irritated during services.
She also felt that none of her previous nail technicians had been able to create a nail shape that truly complemented her hands.
Perfect Nails In Three Sessions
I often hear from new clients that their nails are breaking, that long nails don't suit them, that the previous nail technician couldn't create the shape the client wanted, and so on.
My clients don't have these problems!
My clients get exactly the nails they want—that's my goal.
And here's my "victory," I'll share this story with you.
Enforcing Standards
In the private beauty industry, enforcing strict boundaries sometimes upsets clients who prioritize convenience over quality. But at Tati Nails, we will never apologize for protecting your natural nail health.
A true Russian Manicure isn’t just a coat of polish—it is precise, architectural nail work. The golden rule for structural integrity is a strict 3-to-4-week maintenance cycle.
Why a Professional Nail Tech do not offer Guarantees
In the beauty industry, it is essential to distinguish between client expectations and actual professional standards.
A manicurist is a licensed specialist whose responsibilities include:
maintaining strict sanitation protocols,
following proper technical procedures,
assessing the condition of the nails and skin,
selecting appropriate materials,
and providing aftercare recommendations.
However, there is an important point:
no professional standard or legal regulation requires a manicurist to provide a guarantee for nail services.
Why?
“These are my nails, I just want an overlay on my natural nails.”
Today I had a new client.
The request was: remove GelX and “just do a simple overlay on my natural nails.”
And this is exactly the moment a lot of people don’t fully understand 👇
Long Toe Nails vs Short…
Almost every second client comes in with long toenails…
and asks me not to shorten them.
It sounds harmless.
But in reality — it leads to problems.
Here’s what actually happens 👇
Extensions, Corrective Sessions & Hard Gel — One System, Different Levels of Support
Most nail services are treated as separate options—but they’re not. Extensions, corrective sessions, and hard gel are part of one structured process. Learn how each stage works and how natural nails are built to achieve long-term shape, strength, and length.
