Long Toe Nails vs Short…
Almost every second client comes in with long toenails…
and asks me not to shorten them.
It sounds harmless.
But in reality — it leads to problems.
Here’s what actually happens 👇
1. Pressure & pain
Length creates constant pressure inside shoes → within 2–3 weeks clients start feeling discomfort,
which can lead to bruising and even onycholysis (lifting of the natural nail).
2. Callus buildup
The skin tries to protect itself from pressure → leading to thickened, rough areas on the toes.
3. Ingrown nails
Length distorts the natural nail structure → increasing the risk of ingrown nails.
4. Hygiene issues
Debris builds up under the nail: skin, dust… sometimes even pet hair.
This is simply not hygienic.
My professional approach:
I do not leave length on toenails.
For me, it’s always:
safety → professionalism → quality.
I educate my clients on how to properly maintain their nails at home
and provide a file so they can follow my recommendations.
Sometimes “beautiful” is not about length —
it’s about health and proper structure.
