Burned and Over-Filed Nails

This case study documents the beginning of a structured recovery process for severely over-filed and chemically damaged nails. The goal is not immediate cosmetic perfection, but long-term restoration of structure, comfort, and durability through a health-first Russian manicure approach combined with controlled extensions.

This is an ongoing case. Progress will be documented over time as the natural nail continues to recover through consistent, structured maintenance and careful monitoring of growth and condition.

Session 1 – Initial Assessment and Foundation Correction

Date: 02/19/2026

Assessment

Initial condition at the first visit showed severe thinning, peeling, and structural damage after previous aggressive filing and product removal. The natural nail lacked the strength and stability required to support extensions safely. Surrounding skin and cuticles also showed signs of irritation and long-term over-processing.

Session 1 – Visit Overview (live case framing)

The focus of the first visit was stabilization, protection, and preparation for long-term recovery rather than immediate cosmetic results. Due to the extent of structural damage, the priority was to reduce sensitivity and create a stable foundation for future growth and durability.

A structured, health-first approach was followed throughout the session, with careful evaluation and controlled work designed to restore balance and support the natural nail. The goal was to create a safer environment for long-term strength and retention.

This is an ongoing case. Progress will be documented over time as the natural nail continues to recover through consistent, structured maintenance.

Conclusion / Long-Term Plan (live case framing)

his first session represents the foundation stage of a long-term recovery process. The next visit is planned in approximately three weeks for structural correction and continued monitoring.

Ongoing visits will focus on:

  • Supporting natural nail recovery

  • Maintaining structural balance

  • Monitoring growth and sensitivity

  • Improving long-term durability and retention

This is a live, ongoing case. Updates will be shared over time to document the full recovery journey.
